3:33
After a long day yesterday, I laid down in bed last night beside a roaring fire in the fireplace. (Have we told you that we sleep in the living room by the fireplace?) Virginia began to read to me from the Rime of the Ancient Mariner before I went to sleep. There is such comfort in our time together, and when Virginia reads poetry to me it brings back wonderful memories. She has often read poetry to me, and with poetry is how she first courted me. She is a very romantic soul.
I was awake for a couple of hours in the middle of the night last night, and thought about all kinds of things..... art related things, ideas, worries..... but there is a funny thing I have been meaning to mention, to see if anybody else has had a similar sort of experience.
I often/frequently wake up at 3:33 in the morning. Yes, three is my favorite number.... but come on, it happens all the time. Does anybody have any idea why this would happen? Does something like this happen to you? Just curious.
I am an IdeaConceived in the mind of the Universe And interpreted in the minds Of all the Individuals I meet Within myself I am constant Yet, I am ever changing As the people who interpret me I can control my actions But I can not control their thoughts Therefore, I must do what I think right And let others - Think what they will ~ javan

Judith, hi, I was just googled waking up at 3:33 and came up with your entry, I too have experienced waking up at exactly 3:33 several times. I searched for some info on this number and you know it is a very significant number in the occult. As a matter of fact it is said to be the number which represents Choronzon who was the spirit/some say daemon that Aleister Crowley conjured up in Africa when he wrote the Book of the Law. In researching this Choronzon represents the freeing of yourself and the finding of your true will. Some also say the destruction of the ego, which will lead to your true will. I just find it fascinating though, and hardly coincidental to wake at exactly 3:33 on more than one occasion. I really can't see a natural explanation for this.Comment from aleister333 - 11/21/05 2:10 PM

Ahhh Judi, you've gone and spooked me with this entry. Perhaps 3:33 is your albatross, waking you up every night. Or maybe it's just your tinkle time! It's just weird that you linked the 3:33 thing together with the poem though I understand why. My son is actually writing a screenplay about Cain, the man who's been doomed to wander the earth with a Mark. Some people who study apocrypha believe that Cain is the antichrist still wandering about the earth and waiting for his chance to mark all of earth's inhabitants with his sign which is 666! (double yours!)The good news for you is that my therapist was into numerology and threes kept coming up in my history. She told me that 3 is a good luck number and believe me she believed it! I ended up as her realtor eventually and she wouldn't even look at a home that didn't have the number 3 in the address, LOL! The bad news for me is that every time I step on my digital scale to weigh myself, the number 666 comes up! I'm serious!Enough of that. The Rime of the Ancient Mariner is beautiful. I read the psalms when I am upset or can't sleep. But just the positive ones, which are comforting and not the negative ones.Maryannehttp://journals.aol.com/globetrotter2u/Myfeelingsarereal/Comment from globetrotter2u - 10/27/05 9:23 AM
I don't wake up at a specific time, but I do tend to wake up around 3:30am and then again at about 5:40-5:50ish! It never fails, I can't sleep straight through. You aren't going to believe this: I read this entry yesterday and thought no more about it. I always wake up several times during the night (it's an age thing), but the last time I awoke, last night, I peeked my eyes open, saw 3:33, and about flipped! Now if this is a trend, I'll have to blame you for starting it. Imagine all of J-land (probably just the women, most men sleep like babies) awake at 3:33 AM. It might be a good time for all of us to pray and/or send positive thoughts for peace. ROFL. I just had to share. I'll let you know if it keeps happening.Comment from mosie1944 - 10/27/05 6:48 AM

My thoughts on 3:33You find meaning in everything that surrounds you, in every aspect of your life. You reflect on it, and you sense that there is meaning and significance. And so there is.Our lives are filled with wonders if we only open our eyes to see them. Most of us are dulled to the beauty and meaning of the details of our lives -- drowned out in the tv, and car radio, and the busy schedules of our daily lives. How fortunate and wise you are to seek meaning and find it in the small but profoundly significant details of life.I think all of us, not just the artists, can learn to see our lives differently -- to see and experience in a very real way the meaningfulness of the events of our day and in the world around us.Noticing the details of our lives and questioning their significance to us is part of being fully alive and aware. Dear Judith, I too have these serendipty moments and it's usually when there is a decision to be made, or spirit wants me to take a closer look at something, or a sign of confirmation with something I am anticipating doing. For years I woke up every morning at 4am. There was no getting back to sleep and anyway poetry was pouring through my senses and so I wrote and I wrote and I wrote. Here is an experiment to try. Put a pad of paper beside your bed. When you wake up in the middle of the night, write down what time it is. After several weeks you will have enough data to make a very rough assessment. I think you will find that the time 3:33 does not *really* occur more often that any other time during your waking in the wee hours. You just pay more attention when it does because you attribute some personal significance to the number three. In other words, one night you wake up, and it is 3:28. Another night you wake up, and it it 3:42. Another night you wake up, and it is 3:17. Another night, you wake up and it is 3:33, and you say, "wow! That's interesting," and apply some significance to that occurence while completely discounting the fact that on the previous three nights you woke up at *not* 3:33.-PaulComment from plittle - 10/26/05 10:20 AM

Judi, I often catch the digital clock at exactly 5:27. This is both my birthday and my son's, so it stands out to me. I've wondered if its coincidence or subconscious - just what causes me to glance @ the clock at that exact minute, be it AM or PM??? I've decided its a little hello from God.Comment from dawngepfer - 10/26/05 9:17 AM
11:11 has always been 'my number" the one I notice or one that seems to pop up all the time. As far as waking me up out of a sound sleep that would be 4am, sharp. So, you have company my dear. Like you, I have no idea if there is significance to it though. Comment from cneinhorn - 10/26/05 9:17 AM
