October's Artsy Essay ~ with a Guest Panel!

Artsy Essay Logo

Welcome to October's Artsy Essay... with a topic and judging by some of my friend and Author Theresa Williams' wonderful students.

The Artsy Essay Contest is open to everyone, as long as the blog is public and able to be read by anyone and everyone, and the entry is written in English so that the illustrious panel of judges might read it.

Each month's essay can be addressed in poetry, prose, with artist's materials or camera. Photo essays may be one or a series of photos. Any creative medium will be considered.
Let yourself go! Experimentation (otherwise known as joyful abandon) is the word of the day here... you need not be a professional writer, artist or photographer, all efforts will be appreciated.

The rules are simple, two weeks to write and create - from the fifteenth of the month through the last day of the month at midnight in Washington, DC. No exceptions in timing will be made.... when it says midnight on my clock in my apartment in the environs of DC, the contest is over for the month and no further entries will be accepted.

**Your contest entry MUST link back to this monthly Artsy Essay entry, which encourages more people to participate, **AND your specific contest entry link MUST be entered correctly in the Mister Linky widget at the end of this post so that the judges can find it to read.

Feel free to leave any comments about your entry in the comment section of this post. You will have until midnight in DC on the last day of each month to get that link working and exactly right so that it directs to your specific contest entry, in order to be included in judging.
Judging will begin on the first of the month and a winner or winners will be announced as soon as the judges reach a consensus.

The prize will be a piece of art from my studio and will vary from month to month. Paintings on paper or canvas, multi-media pieces, handmade artist books, and other studio pieces are possible prizes and will be awarded as long as the winner is willing to provide their mailing address, which will be held in strictest confidence. For the time being, I am able to assume the shipping costs for continental US winners, international winners may be asked to help with their shipping costs should the need arise.

Each winner will be sent an email with a jpeg of the Artsy Essay logo icon to use or display in any way they wish. Winners will need to upload the icon into their FTP or photo storage space, no hot linking allowed in order to save my bandwidth, please.

The theme for this month:

Describe Your Ideal Day

The sky is the limit..... your ideal day does not need to fit your current budget or circumstances. Dream a little dream and share with us just what your ideal day would be, start to finish.

Remember: Descriptive, Descriptive, Descriptive! Make us feel what it is you feel, help us to be right there in the wordy moment with you. Descriptive language and creativity, as always, are an important part of this challenge, and this month we want to share some joy! Make sure we can see, smell, taste, or imagine exactly what it is you are describing.

So get back to the drawing board, easel, writing desk, or tripod. You have two weeks to create your entry, and lots of people will be dropping by your blog to read / view.

Enjoy yourselves, have fun, and let those creative juices flow.

Judi,
I have checked all the links & they are all beautiful. Tammy might want to re-link hers-You have to look for it, instead of it instantly going to her entry. But other than that, everything looks wonderful! I think I'm going to squeeze one in, myself!
