whether there will be weather in DC

Forecasters are predicting sleet and freezing rain, changing to rain through Wednesday morning in the environs of DC, although you never know if the predictions will turn out to be correct until after the fact. The truth is that the people of DC do not like inclement weather, and driving in snow or on frozen streets is something that can send traffic into fits and paroxysms of snarls and back-ups. The climate here is more temperate that where I grew up in Northern Pennsylvania, where driving in snow and ice, sometimes with chains, is second nature. Thanks to Virginia's hunting and gathering skills I have lock de-icer in my leather backpack, just in case.

My sister still laughs when they have an inch of snow in North Carolina where she is, and they close everything. She drives around like it's nothing, everyone else is scared!! She grew up here near Buffalo, NY, and nothing phases here when it comes to "winter" weather down there!
my mouth dropped when i saw that painting. it somewhat matches mine! it's GORGEOUS and i absolutely LOVE it. how fantastic, my friend!
Hi Judi;
Glad to find you once again. I've always enjoyed your work and your writing. I hate winter and winter driving particularly. Chicagoans are like Pennsylvanians. (I know, I married one.) Walking, driving, and living with snow and ice is second nature. Take care and come visit my new blog here on blogger. It's called My Way Again. Have a great New Year.
Jude
The painting is euphoria for the eyes. I love the delicacy of the orchid. We have the freezing rain here today. Paul is delighted with a day off work (in all fairness, he already had over a week off with the holiday). I'm back online although tenuous at the moment. (Hugs)Indigo
