and a good time was had by all

The party at the art center last night was a tremendous success and we all had a blast. It was a combination of the art center's First Friday Event and my studio warming, and a huge crowd gathered. About 120 of my good friends, collectors, and invitees showed up...... some that I was not expecting to make it.... and it was a glorious night to share time and space with all the people who have come to be so improtant in my life.

The flowers were gorgeous, the catered food (I hear) was delicious, the band was great and the company sparkled. There was a drawing for a Chocolate Lovers gift basket that I created, and food and wine and conversation flowed. I sold several pieces of art and have nibbles on two more pieces, and all the artists either sold work or made good contacts with people.

One of the delightful happenstances... two of our "neighbors" across the street from the artist concourse, who live in the building next door, came by when they saw the lights on all 166 people on the second floor... and they came to introduce themselves to me becuase I am always the artist there with the light on working. We all laughed so hard when I was able to tell each what I knew about them from what I see on their patios... one has a black dog with a pink ball who comes outside (she bounces the ball off their patio into the street below) and the other man steps outside to smoke and favors ball caps on the patio. I told them we can all wave now when they come outside:) New friends.

I got to meet some wonderful friends in person for the first time and also got to introduce dear friends to my artist friends, and the night flew by. If you were able to come, I am glad you were there. Friends who sent flowers.... I love you. For people who were too distant to attend I will get the photos uploaded into a flickr file soon so that you can feel like you were there. If you were there and got great crowd shots let me know!!!!!

So much more to tell you about the evening, but I need a day or two to recover and digest it all...... so many good people all in one place and I am overwhelmed by the love and support my friends gave me last night. I cannot stop smiling at how it all turned out. Lots more to come!
