here there and everywhere

We spent the day running all over town yesterday.... the catering has been ordered, balloons and gorgeous flowers have been ordered from my favorite florist, assorted paper products, plates, cups and plasticware, beverages, tablecloths, and all the little things needed for a good party are being checked off the list. (Think red EVERYTHING for Valentine's Day.) The list of people coming to the studio-warming and open house is growing and lots of good people will be brought together under one roof for one night.
We got all the makings for a "Chocolate Lovers" basket that will go to the winner of the free drawing, and today I will assemble it all together. All the heart canvases are dry and waiting for a signature, and they are starting to find homes already. I have a week to think of all the things I have forgotten, and then hopefully we'll enjoy a totally stress-free party.
It is a gorgeous blue-sky morning in the burbs of DC.

I love your hearts!! It must be nice when you finally get to the point in your art where you have an idea of how to do what you have pictured in your mind. Sigh! Im currently trying to figure out how to get a photo printed out from an inkjet printer onto a piece of wood. I'm currently searching internet and also local art stores for mediums that might work. Now I'm at the experimental stage. Hopefully someday I'll get it all figured out and be able to post a Tada! picture. If I ever figure out how to get these particular images onto a good medium they will be awesome. LOL!
Although I wasn't commenting I was watching the hearts take shape. At first I wasn't sure what to think. After seeing the end result, I love the effect. The third one down with the light shades of gold and warm brown just calls to me. Beautiful work dear one. The opening party will be a grand success. (Hugs)Indigo
Just Beautiful Judi... I have to admit the ones that caught my eye are the green/gold and the Blue/silver hearts. Sounds like your set.. and I know everything will be a great success.
(((HUGS)))
P.S. Got your card and your right they turned out just wonderful. Now I just have to find a special place for it :-)
THe hearts came out great, Judith!
All beautiful!! I think your gathering will be just wonderful :)
Wow, the hearts are beautiful!! I'll be sending good thoughts your way this week for the opening!! I really do think it'll go very well! :)
Thanks for all the kind words and thoughts everyone.....
I do have to say that I cannot always get the vision in my head for a piece of art onto the substrate.... sometimes it just doesn't work out as planned... or a right or left turn in the process takes it another way.
At the beginning of these canvases I had a clear vision, but was not sure as I was working if they would turn out the way I wanted. There were several stages in the process where they could have totally derailed if materials didn't behave as expected or things did not come together correctly.
As an artist I always have some percentage of a failure rate... where things don't work... and I am happy to say that these pieces exceeded my expectations and turned out the way that I had hoped for them to be. A very good thing.
A big part of what I do is learning to adjust to right or left turns gracefully and intuitively, and to live with the (sometimes) failures:):):):)There is a lesson in everything that I do:)
