abstracting the motorcycle
A group gathered yesterday afternoon to start painting the motorcycle. After a brief discussion of paints and materials everybody set to painting some part of the machine. A lot of talk and laughter followed as some painted designs, some painted background color, and some moved from here to there painting dots and splashes. More painting is yet to come and we may set the motorcycle up in the artists' concourse this week so that more people can participate. Mixed media additions will be added and already the bike is taking on new life. (Sorry, no camera along yesterday.)
Late in the day yesterday we went to the opening of Ann Curry's exhibit with Antoine Sanfuentes "Exposing Darfur" at the Washington School of Photography and there was a big crowd there to view the show.
