day 2 of the holiday celebration

PEACOCK

finishing touches 3

I kept the studio open all day (9 - 7) and visited with lots of guests who were in town center for the weekend festivities. Many were first time visitors and that first impression is so important to encourage return visits to our beautiful art center. I am so happy to be a part of this place, and to call the artists and staff my friends. It is a tight-knit group of good, hard-working people.

I finished the peacock during my studio day, and since Virginia and I could not take a long trip out of town for our anniversary in order to have my studio open, she came and worked at my table to keep me company. There is a fantastic new exhibit in the galleries, "Sculpting Time" a ceramics show...... I recommend a visit if you haven't already seen it.

I am doing a lot of research into art licensing and building a product line from my work, and tomorrow have a meeting to talk about the peacock painting with a very interesting person. More to come.

On to the next painting!

I love that peacock. I liked the sketch, and have loved it more with every step in the process. Can't wait to hear where it is going to end up.
