white stripes

Happy to once again be in the studio yesterday I had a good day of work despite a very painful and twingey lower back. Lots of schlepping and hauling and long hours driving probably had something to do with it... that and some major stress. No further stress is prescribed for the rest of this week.... time off for good behavior.

In the studio I spent hours painting lovely stripes in the background of the pear painting and I am very pleased with them and the affect. With all the curves of the bowl and fruit, the regimented stripes offer a nice counterpoint. There is still lots of detail work to do on the pears and the bowl... next up the deep sapphire blues to offset the highlights already added to the bowl.
