I see it!!!!!

orange journal 2 close

Remember years ago those Magic Eye pictures that were all the rage and little kiosks selling them could be found in malls everywhere? I am going to tell you a little secret....... I could never see the image in the picture. Tried and tried, and my children tried to teach me how to "look" at the images...... to no avail. I thought something was wrong with my eyes or my brain or some combination of the two, and I always felt so frustrated that I was missing out on all the excitement.

Well..... stop the presses.... I can see them now! It started with some cards with the pictures on them, and when I lamented to Virginia and friends that I was "Magic Eye-less", Virginia did what she does best and had a teaching moment with me. Within ten minutes I was seeing things! Chortle.

We came home last night and Virginia found more Magic Eye pictures online and now I am so delighted that I cannot get enough of them....... I feel like I finally caught up to the rest of the class!

I am VERY easily amused.

ok.... so what Virginia had me do was focus on a detail about 5 feet away... and then bring the picture up close to your eyes while still focusing on that other distant point..... I almost felt like my eyes were crossing:) Then move the picture in and out until the image starts to appear... maintaining that other focus.

Once you learn that other focus it is easy to see new images more quickly each time:):):)

Too funny!

I have an astigmatism and perhaps that limits me but I find some magic eyes images I can see and others I can't. When I can, it's pretty dang cool! Congrats to you! You've got a whole new world to explore!

Isn't it great to now see what you've been missing all these years?

I found here today a big big smile.

I know how I felt when I first learned to see them. I was like a first grader so proud of myself. HEY, it wasn't easy..... Anne

Huh - I've never heard of them ... where was I? Now I'll have to google them and waste time feeling frustrated because I can't see the pictures! You have a great holiday, Judith. :)
