commission

Sunflower painting reference

I have been working non-stop on the commissioned painting and it is just about complete now and an image has been emailed to the new owner for his input. As soon as I have this painting completed and ready for shipping to the owner I will show you all of my process shots of the painting.... normally you all get to see process photos all the way through, but I wanted the owner to be the first to see it all finished.....

At the end of the studio day yesterday Virginia and I went to Plaza for my new canvas, some paint colors I was running low on, and a couple of new brushes just because. I printed sunflower images from my
photo field trip to the sunflower field here in Montgomery County last summer with three tremendous photographer friends, and former resident artists at VisArts. I have a few final touches to add the the commissioned piece and then the sketch will begin for the sunflowers, and I am so excited to be moving on to this painting!

I am also planning to photograph striped rocks in the studio for some paintings, and I have some mixed media boxes planned as well.... so much to do!

I just know in advance that I will love it. Ever since I learned sunflowers are the only flowers that tilt their heads to face the sun, I have been intrigued by them. They bring me great joy and inspiration and that is why my HeartSong painting means even more to me. :)
You bring so much sunshine to the lives of others.
