didja miss me?

I have been away away away on a rare vacation, and hopefully you didn't even know I was gone. The timing was interesting considering all the stuff going on that I am currently working on, but I am glad I had the chance to go to Delaware (my home away from home) to spend time and just be.
We spent a couple of nights staying in Rehoboth at our favorite hotel just a block from the beach to do what all the tourists do.... sit among the sea of umbrellas on the beach, spend time on the boardwalk, and to visit some shops I love there. I re-found a favorite store in a new location, Bead Therapy is now located just across the street from Nicola Pizza on First Street.... and I bought some brilliant Czech beads for the bra that I am working on for an exhibit and fundraiser. A few mixed media finds were there to be had at The Pelican Loft and no visit to Rehoboth is complete without a stop at BrowseAbout Books.
Evenings were spent on the beach as the sun went down, watching the waves roll in, and we seeded the sand with coins for the guy with the metal detector that comes through at dusk. Some time was spent at our favorite secret beaches looking for seaglass - fossils - treasures, and we spent another night at AmericInn off route 36 in Milford in one of their whirpool suites. Plan to shop ahead and dine in:) You won't want to leave the room.
We stopped at an antique barn on the way home and by the time we arrived here last night it was good to be back and home once again knowing you can never have too many strawberries dipped in chocolate while relaxing in a whirpool tub!
Now it is time to get all my paintings packed up for the trip to National Harbor and The Maris Elaine Gallery for her grand opening show, and there is much to do to prepare. Back to work!!!!

Oooooooo, you said bead store!! I love beads! I hope you found some great ones! Sounds like you had a well-deserved relaxing little vacation! :) :)
I have yet to get to Rehoboth Beach but have heard such great things about it. It's on my "to do" list. Glad to hear the two of you had a relaxing time. There is nothing like a getaway.
