four hours later.....

butterfly 2

After a busy day at work yesterday Virginia and I met at the studio to share dinner and then to begin packing..... everything. Four hours later just one painting remained hanging on my studio wall, and everything else had been labeled and wrapped securely in plastic sheeting for the trip to the gallery at National Harbor.

13 paintings are making the trip to The Maris Elaine Gallery, reminding me of another lucky number 13 not all that long ago. Good things, GREAT things are happening and so many of you readers have been along for the ride for a long time, and I am just appreciating the moments and the adventures, never knowing quite what might be around the next corner.

There is no rest for the weary or the wicked as I have a bra to finish, rocks to photograph for stone paintings, and lots of new work on the drawing board as it were. I am thinking of working on those larger than life paintings of butterflies that I have been dreaming about for some time, and there are lots of reference photos waiting for their day in the studio. So much to do. Mixed media projects are calling and will be interspersed between paintings to keep that sense of play.... in play.... and there are other new horizons that need exploring.

Last of all today I have a job for you, those of you brave enough to accept the challenge:) Do you get those weird, unsolicited credit card offers in the mail? The ones with the fake credit card inside that say "your name here"? If you would, send those fake little credit card rectangles to me in the mail....... for an upcoming project, and I will send you a notecard or postcard in return:)

I've noticed that I don't get as many of those little plastic cards as I used to. I still get the offer of credit cards, but without the little plastic card that was so popular at one time. A sign of the economy and the credit card companies trying to not spend so much? I don't know, but I -will- save any I receive now and pass them on to you :)

I am so excited for you! This is a wonderful opportunity and greatly deserved. I just threw out a few of those paper credit card things this week but will start setting them aside. So happy for you :)
