in this 30th year

With this big anniversary and the party coming up I have been hearing from a lot of old friends.... some who are going to make the journey for the party, and some who are sending good wishes and their kind thoughts and memories along in communications. So many people have been a part of this journey...... people who offered support and knowledge and wisdom as I grew this business around my art. Mentors, business owners, friends, teachers, opportunity-givers, colleagues, all those people who offered expertise and wisdom in one way or another.
All of this has had me thinking about so many people. The business man who always had a wise word or two who taught me so much about the art of working with people, the owners of the art store who helped me get my workshop business off the ground years ago and were always there to cheer me on - and are now still cheering me on when I am so far away, the friends who were and are endlessly supportive with helping hands and shoulders to lean on, my artist, photographer and writer friends who have become pen pals over the years as we shared thoughts and inspirations as we traveled our own paths, collectors who have supported my vision.... so many people.
As artists we often say that our path is a solitary one, because we spend so much time working alone.... and yet, when I think of all these people, maybe the path is not so solitary after all. This anniversary has reminded me of all the people who helped me get here, to this very moment, in so many varied ways. A dream realized.

You should be very proud of your path.

I certainly wish I could be there. I still have an aunt at Leisure Village I could visit too. Unfortunately, I have to be here or where there is oxygen when I need it. I wish the best as always.
