perfect painting for the beginning of summer

I am working on a dragonfly commission in the studio and with all the flying,buzzing, flitting, scurrying critters outside my studio doors it seems to be the perfect piece to work on at the start of summer. We have had glorious rain the last few days in metro DC, and now I am hearing that the rather impressive lightning storm last night has affected how traffic lights all over the county are synchronized..... that doesn't sound good.
