a very big.... spider

I went looking for my other antique drawers in a closet at the studio yesterday to begin work on them, and when I lifted a tablet sitting on the box they were in I saw fine webbing that I have become familiar with in this new space. I went and got a plastic cup and a thick postcard, a broom, and my dustbuster... preparing for every eventuality.
Luckily, when I opened the drawer that the spider web led into, the REALLY BIG spider was in the bottom of the small antique drawer, and I very gingerly and quickly carried the drawer and the spider outside and across the road to the woods in the rain..... trying to will this spider not to move and scare me enough that I would drop the drawer and him/her.
aaaaaaagggghhhhhhh..... heeebie geebies.... gakkk
Truth-be-told, I am afraid of really big spiders, even after all my time at the zoo - where I learned I am actually allergic to a whole host of invertebrates. I am afraid of really big spiders and still want to do the right thing and release them outside........ and let them live anywhere but inside my studio.

Props to you for trying to give that really big arachnid a new lease on life IN THE RAIN!!!
Thank you Mrs. L........ Big BIG!
I would have sucked it up the vacuum cleaner! Then I would have fretted as to whether it would walk back out again unscathed later on when I was not looking. Yuch!!!!
You were very brave!
Jeanie
I try really hard to keep to a catch and release policy...... unless I am going to get hurt... the allergies are an issue.
