so glad that is over

We are well and fine with our electricity on and just shredded leaves and branches everywhere along with a downed tree at the mouth of our complex. Saturday night we watched the trees whipping outside our sliding glass doors for most of the night and ventured out to take a walking tour of the neighborhood early in the morning. The one thing pepco did right was emergency tree trimming on Thursday and Friday along our complex's power lines, and I feel like that helped to keep our power on.
We showered and drove down to the studio and thankfully all is well there.... just more shredded leaves. I am hearing from friends here in metro DC that they have lost trees and many are still without power... and good friends in New York State have basements filled with water reminicent of the 72 flood that I experienced in Northern PA. We are so fortunate that we did not get more flooding rain here, and yesterday afternoon we settled down for a quiet nap.
