salon - an artful conversation (September)

discussion space set up for 20

For the second night in a row my gallery morphed into gathering space - on this night filled with seating for twenty for the salon group and some new guests attending for the first time. Kate Fraser came to share her wit and wisdom concerning getting and keeping gallery representation, and on October 22nd she will offer the day long course "Success as an Artist" at my studio and gallery.

Our salon runs from 6 to 8 pm on a designated evening each month peopled with artists and arts professionals. Everyone began to arrive with food and drink that they set out in my studio kitchen a little ahead of our 6:00 start time, and settled in for good conversation. Two new guests joined in last night and the turn-out was good with a lot of regular attendees there. A great time was had by all and new connections were made..... which always delights me.

Two books were mentioned:

The $12 Million Stuffed Shark: The Curious Economics of Contemporary Art

and
Seven Days in the Art World
