I predicted a weekend full of laughter..... and I got one

As previously posted here, Saturday was a feel good day despite the weather, and I was looking forward to Sunday because I was promised the Takoma Park Street Festival. Once again, we ventured out with skies threatening rain and went to one of my favorite events of the year. It was chillier, and thruth be told, this Florida girl even had to roll down her favorite rolled up jeans in order to stay warm enough.... but Virginia was right there with a warm coat pocket for my cold hands and we walked the festival, looked at vendors' wares, visited the House of Musical Traditions and some really funky shops, and had a great lunch on a park bench.

At the farmer's market Virginia bought me some wonderful squashes for decoration at the studio, and she carried them all afternoon for me as we walked the festival. One vendor we always visit is a rock and fossil dealer and his booth is always mobbed. I picked out some
fulgurites and a big chunk of calcite with crystals for my studio ledge, and a piece of tiger eye for Virginia as a present. I also found some scarves that will make great table runners at the studio and a handful of fridge magnets to hold postcards on my uber artsy studio fridge.

As I had hoped we laughed all day and into the evening.... and it was the best weekend I can remember in ages.

My favorite jeweler of the day:
