Maryland Renaissance Festival

procession 2

Yesterday we ventured out on a cloudy and rainy day to the Maryland Renaissance Festival for an afternoon of fun, laughter, and good food. Never one to do anything the way anybody else EVER (EVER EVER) seems to do something (anything)..... instead of coming home with fresh honey or spices, jewelry, handmade soaps, a floral crown, or handmade leather boots...... this artist came home with a gorgeous handful of African porcupine quills. One of the vendor uses them in her handiwork and shared with me the ones that she could not use for one reason or another. Oh, what a treat. We watched glassblowing demonstrations talked to artisans and vendors, and I laughed all afternoon. Happy endorphins.

I have not yet photographed the quills and will wait to unwrap them at the studio, but they will be wonderful additions to mixed media pieces.
