off to the gallery

The canvases were delivered to the Washington School of Photography for the fundraiser yesterday, and the next time you see them will be on a gallery wall.......... with their wonderful translucent matte finish they look just like encaustic works.

I completed the six 'heart of gold' canvases in the studio yesterday but forgot to get a final image after I added hand-drawn dragonflies to the center of each of the white circles on the canvases. Once that step was completed I added a final topcoat to protect the thin glazes and signed the pieces, which will get packed up early next week after some more dry time for the fundraiser at the Washington School of Photography benefiting The Stone and Holt Weeks Foundation.

Now it is back to work on commission work and lots of new work that I want to begin in the studio.
