the kindness of strangers
What a busy time! Packing and organizing things to move is taking up so many hours. On Sunday we were at the new property cleaning up the yard, and in the process trimming back huge clumps of sea oats for Spring. Our new neighbors were suddenly there, with gloves and rakes and paper recycling bags, to help us pack up the mounds of plant material. It was so unexpected and a huge kindness. Other neighbors came out to say hello and welcome us, and we feel as though we will be taken in and accepted at the new place... these welcoming gestures will not be forgotten.
I will get back to regular posting, however, life in technicolor is demanding my full attention. Thank you to all who have sent loving notes and cards, gifts of time and energy, a beautiful basket of flowers to decorate our new stoop, and giftcards to Home Depot......... we feel so loved by so many!!!
I am truly, truly the luckiest person in the world. There is no feeling like having a place to call home for this gypsy girl with wandering feet.

There is nothing better than having wonderful/friendly neighbors. Before I lived in an affluent neighborhood and people could never be bothered. Now I live in a totally different area and people are so kind and caring, for the most part. So glad to hear this. :)
Those are the kind of neighbours to live alongside.
May you both enjoy your new home and neighbour for many years to come.
